Located on the southern edge of the Red River Delta, Trang An is a spectacular landscape of limestone karst peaks crisscrossed by valleys, many of which are partially submerged and surrounded by steep, nearly vertical cliffs. Exploration of caves at various elevations has uncovered archaeological traces of human activity over a continuous period of more than 30,000 years.
They illustrate the occupation of these mountains by seasonal hunter- gatherers and their adaptation to major climatic and environmental changes, especially the repeated flooding of the landscape by the sea after the last ice age. The history of human settlement continues through the Neolithic and Bronze Ages to the historic era. Hoa Lu, the ancient capital of Vietnam, was strategically founded here in the 10th and 11th centuries AD. The property also contains temples, pagodas, rice fields and small villages. "
Our tour guide will pick you up at 8am with our private car in Hanoi at 8am to Trang An. From here, you will start the journey: for about 2 hours, you will go through 6 caves and enjoy the picture book scenery in Trang An.
Continue to the old capital of Hoa Lu. There you will have lunch.
Then we will go by car to Bai Dinh Pagoda, built on an area of 700 hectares, on the Ba Rau hills, near the Hoang Long River. The architecture of the pagoda follows traditional lines, consisting of large halls, courtyards and enclosures. But the huge dimension of Bai Dinh makes it strikingly different from the previously built Vietnamese Buddhist pagodas. It is also the largest pagoda in Southeast Asia.
The tour ends around 5 pm in Hanoi
